The Dark Tech Studio is an interdisciplinary educational programme of 30 ECTS as part of HBO-ICT at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. In the programme, creative technologists, front-end developers, AI engineers and digital business engineers explore ethical boundaries of emerging technologies through provocative prototyping, The Dark Tech Studio first started in September 2025, with a cohort of 60 IT students.

Tinker Ethical TechLab
Tinker Ethical TechLab is a research project initiated together with Jolijn Friederichs, born from the need for more space for ethical reflection within IT education. It serves as an experimental environment where we develop methodologies for ethics education through hands-on technology experimentation. Here, we combine our passion for speculative design, interactive systems, and technology ethics. The Dark Tech Studio is the first concrete implementation of this project.
